Donald Trump has blamed Joe Biden and Kamala Harris for last month’s failed assassination attempt against him by accusing them of making it difficult for the Secret Service to protect him.

The Republican presidential nominee’s claim – for which he offered no evidence – was made on the television talkshow Dr Phil, hosted by Phil McGraw, on Tuesday. The remarks follow disclosures that several Secret Service agents from the Pittsburgh field office had been placed on administrative leave after the 13 July shooting.

At a campaign rally in Butler, Pennsylvania, last month, Trump was grazed on the ear by a bullet after a 20-year-old gunman opened fire from the roof of a nearby building. One rallygoer, Corey Comperatore, was killed and two others were seriously wounded. The gunman was shot dead by a Secret Service officer at the scene.

“When this happened, people would ask, whose fault is it? Trump told McGraw. “I think to a certain extent it’s Biden’s fault and Harris’s fault. And I’m the opponent. They were weaponising government against me, they brought in the whole DoJ to try and get me, they weren’t too interested in my health and safety.

I blame TV’s Richard Karn, who played Al Borland on ABC’s Home Improvement from 1991-1999.

See what I did there? I blamed whoever the fuck I wanted without any regard for the truth and it matches the viability of his claims. I should be running for fucking president.

Frankly, I find it extremely difficult to believe that this wasn’t staged using exactly that manner as an attempt to garner sympathy and rally people behind him.

And before anyone brings up the bystanders getting shot, yes, I’m fully aware. But if you don’t believe the government is willing to outright murder civilians as a coverup to achieve their goals, you are woefully ignorant.

I’m not saying that this was DEFINITELY staged, but it all seems way too convenient not to be.

EDIT: idk why this comment is under this thread. It was supposed to be a response to the “he clipped his ear WWE style” one

Ear wounds bleed spectacularly. They are also quite easy to fix cleanly, with appropriate care. A small wound would create plenty of blood, but be effectively invisible after a bit of work from a plastic surgeon.

Let’s face it, which is more likely? A shooter just missed, or Trump had the coordination to play act, without it looking like a 5 year old’s “my first magic act”, and then not brag about it?

this actually isn’t true, the shooter was confirmed down by this point, and presumably he knew about it. Also within seconds is complete bullshit, it’s more like a minute, this stems from edited videos that republicans pretend aren’t edited.

it’s not pedantic? This is like complaining about me mentioning that authoritarianism isn’t actually explicitly for right wing ideologies, left wing ideologies can exhibit authoritarianism, and actually authoritarianism itself is entirely agnostic to the concept of “political alignment” it’s just a style of governance.

Being a political extremist implies that you are either right wing extreme, left wing extreme, (or i guess an extremist centrist?) The purposes of your extremism are to further your political ambitions.

Being a social extremist just means you do things that extreme because you personally believe they will have some effect of impact, and of which, you don’t really care.

if crookes were a political extremist, he would’ve had an online presence, he would’ve had some sort of manifesto, he would’ve said something and actually planned this out properly. He did none of these things, happened to get lucky, and then get unlucky. He literally didn’t care who he killed, or what for, or probably even if he killed them at all.

like don’t get me mistaken, if this kid was a groyper or some shit, i would be inclined to agree with you, but as far as i know, he isn’t and wasn’t.

What’s not in good faith? Did any reputable news source call him an outright ring wing extremist?

He was a confirmed conservative Republican voter, so right-wibg on any account. And him trying to assassinate the president makes him extreme.

So he is a right wing extremist. Doesn’t matter what the media calls him. Fox News calls Trump Mr President when he clearly lost.

This is what arguing in bad faith looks like. If someone replies with sources, you will claim bias. Name a news source you consider to be unbiased.

Every news organization is biased. Unless you hear it from the horse’s mouth, it’s probably speculation. I don’t think it’s unreasonable to ask a person if they have any proof of this. Most people have no actual way to defend their opinions besides linking to another opinion—this includes me and you.

It’s also pretty unlikely that any real information would be released because of “national security. Neither party wants people to side with him, because that might encourage copycats.

My guess is that he has no firm political party preference. I’m a registered democrat, but I’m hardly a fan of them. He was wearing a D/R shirt when he got shot. And as I’m sure you know, they are focused on giving power to the people, as opposed to a central government. Assassinating the leader of the central government is pretty on-brand. However, I’m sure the political ideologies of that group have probably shifted since 1820 😅

remember guys, tucker never said on national television that joe biden was “giving a speech in front of a nazi blood red background” That never happened.

Remember guys donald trumps personal attorney joe digenova never said that chris krebs (shortly after the 2020 election statement he made) should be “taken out at dawn and shot”

remember guys, the republicans never, not once in twenty years called the dems “communists” nor have they ever accused the dems of “turning america communist” or wanting to “overthrow democracy and make america communist”

remember guys, republicans never use violent rhetoric, it’s only the dems.

Remember guys, as the dems, it’s our responsibility to fall on the knife EVERY time something bad happens, the republicans NEVER do anything bad, EVER.

Kind of weird that no one is mentioning that if the President wants you dead he has better options than a teenager with mediocre aim.

Also, he can literally just walk up to you and shoot you in the head legally, so.

Surprised it took him this long to blame Biden and Harris. Pretty sure all the MAGAs had already shipped this stupid conspiracy to Mars and back. Their Mango Messiah needs to get with the program.
