According to a new report, competition in the foldable space has Samsung in a panic, and the company is revving up plans to launch a rollable smartphone as soon as next year.

I’d be hyped anyway. Not because I want to buy one now, but because it’s possible (and I might buy one in like a decade when they’re affordable)

Rollable phones are such insanely sci-fi-y things

And will still have that awful GN3 sensor on the primary rear camera. Xiaomi were using a Sony sensor of the same size on the Redmi Note 12 Pro a phone that cost somewhere around $200-300 depending on the region it was sold back in 2022 and 2023.

IIRC display and chip manufacturing are basically treated like separate businesses from the phones as a product. And all the other companies foldables are better than Samsung’s (imo at least) because they haven’t innovated or improved in several generations.

Not disagreeing, but the other foldables claiming no crease are bs from what I’ve seen.
Has anyone noticeably innovated? Genuinely curious

Idk about no crease but Samsung’s appear to be the most noticeable from what I’ve actually seen. I think other manufacturers have improved on this over time but I haven’t seen anything newer than my Pixel Fold in person.

Android 11 is still capable of updating some core system components through Project Mainline, as opposed to Android 8 which is completely dead. But yeah I agree that it’s probably not worth “upgrading” to those Unihertz devices. I was sharing more so it would be on your radar if they ever release a newer model.

It might not be your thing, but there is also a minimalist phone from a startup shipping later this year that has a physical keyboard. And there is also the Clicks keyboard case, which currently only supports iPhones but may release for some Android phones in the future.

Mix equal parts flour and dish soap in seasoned baking tray, let set for 24-48 weeks, then bake in a preheated oven at 400°C immediately
