Well duh, you need to give those kids actual HRT to help them. Of course puberty blockers aren’t enough !

You’re supposed to have therapy before you start doing things you can’t undo, among other things to make sure it’s actually the child’s choice.

Which is why blockers are useful. Either way, you’ve minimized potential harm.

Do you have to get therapy before tatoos or plastic surgery
And almost all hormone effets are reversible
From experience, “therapy” is just gatekeeping

hrt does permanently affect fertility in both men and women so it’s not something that can be fully undone, hence the therapy requirement.
you must be absolutely sure before committing to it

We are talking about blockers, not hrt. Hormone blockers effects are reversible, and with hrt fertility is the only thing that’s getting affected in the long run, but still you don’t need to get therapy before getting a vasectomy.

Id like to add to the original comment that my body has been destroyed by an unwanted puberty and that yes, not getting blockers prescribed has harmed me

the comment you responded specifically mentions hrt though

Oh sorry I completely misread the original two comments, sorry about that. But still, while I do agree that you usually want to minimize potential harm, I still want to insist that therapy is not a good way of knowing if a person is really sure of it and it often into an infantilizing and unpleasant experience

What about children who enter puberty too early?

uhhh read the sentence again. slowly.

if I understand correctly there’s no point in prescribing them to adults right? like irrc puberty does continue till like 18 or 19 somethines but it’s probably already too late at that point?

I always wonder when people transition very young, I’m 40 now and I have felt many different ways throughout my life, and it changes every 10 years. I would be scared to make such a big decision at that age. Good for them if they know what they want for life but 20 year old me was convinced he was gay, but I’m not and know that I’m 40 I have zero attraction to men when I was very bisexual in my be 30s. Anyways. Humans are weird that way.

Good job they actually did a review into this. Rather than just setting a narrative and going with it, even silencing doctors that have alternative views.
