TL;DR: My man realized we’re in a capitalist death cult because a system built on unlimited growth in a world with limited resources is unsustainable, no surprises there. That Crypto is a ponzi scheme (yep, we’re way ahead of you, bud). And proceeds to blame the left for using ACAB as a slogan and 1980s television and post-apocalyptic movies and the Beatles and Stanley Kubrick saying they’re supposed to have brainwashed us and have stopped us from learning the truth about capitalism somehow as part of some conspiracy with Harvard. I’m gonna pass on this manifesto and plant myself on the: “this guy should’ve gotten help” side

Edit: shit how’d I forget the Simpsons?

Don’t forget that the Simpsons play a huge part as well. Even citing two episodes in his blog post.

In his case he self identifies so much with the plot of the show that he’s convinced it’s actually nefarious brainwashing.

NGL I prefer this type of conspiracy idiot over the “I’m angry so I’ll do a mass shooting” idiot.

It’s like this other lady just said:

it’s not like he’s wrong about most of what he said, but the days when seeing yourself on fire to call attention to what’s going on is more than a blip on the radar are long gone.

Graphic design is my passion. I’d say it’s maybe 50/50 or 60/40 for content. At least half nonsense.

Basically MAGAcommunism, for people who unironically think the soviet union was a fascist dictatorship and that’s why they’re into it. It’s what you get when you lazily paint a thin coat of red paint over anti-woke bullshit, and it eviscerates the mental health of anyone who buys into it.

        Well that was definitely something.

So he understood the Simpsons, a Clockwork orange, and 1984 except thought that the subject matter was being praised rather than being shown as a bad thing? I am going to assume the other referenced media is the same.

I don’t think you need to set yourself on fire to convince people shits fucked and getting worse. But. I don’t think it is because of “that”

I recently had an interesting discussion where someone interpreted the pessimistic ending as a result of successful in-universe propaganda from the Party, and that all the shit they said was just gaslighting and lies to make themselves seem omnipresent and make resistance seem hopeless.

I don’t think this was the intended message but the author is dead, we can make up our own head canons and no one can stop us!

If you interpret the appendix as an ending then it’s a lot less pessimistic as it implies that all totalitarian regimes eventually fall.

      Nevermind, this isn’t up-to-date but

By Nate Schweber and Matthew Haag April 19, 2024, 1:54 p.m. ET A young man set himself on fire on Friday afternoon near the Lower Manhattan courthouse where jury selection continued in the criminal trial of former President Donald J. Trump.

The man doused himself with a liquid around 1:35 p.m. in Collect Pond Park, across the street from the courthouse. Onlookers screamed as bright orange flames engulfed the man. It was unclear what motivated his action.

People rushed over to try to extinguish the fire, but the intensity of the heat could be felt several hundred feet away.

After a few minutes, dozens of police officers rushed over and tried to smother the flames. The man, who appeared to be alive, was loaded into an ambulance and rushed away.

The man was in an area of the park that was cordoned off for supporters of Mr. Trump.

This is a developing story and will be updated.

Between this and the war criminal who self-immolated for Palestine, it seems a lot of villains are having their literal come to Jesus moments.
