Amarok 3.0 "Castaway" released!

The Amarok Development Squad is happy to announce the immediate availability of Amarok 3.0 "Castaway"! The new 3.0 is the first stable Qt5/KDE Frameworks 5 based version of Amarok, and first stable release since 2018, when the final Qt4 based version 2.

    This is exciting! Amarok has been the best music player I have used since XMMP and was sad to see it fell by the wayside… Can’t wait to try it again.

      I’m pretty happy with Cantata for now, but it’s no longer being developed, so it’s possible that I’ll want a replacement some day. From a quick glance at Amarok, it looks like it might cover many of the same needs. I’ll have to check it out.
