for some reason Donald Trump doesn’t go in the category of “people named Donald” in my head. like Tom Cruise, he’s not a Tom, or a Thomas, he’s always Tom Cruise.

when I hear somebody else’s first name is donald, it doesn’t make me think of him

I think of a rarely seen side character from a rather obscure British sitcom

Not at this time, but if he were to create such damage that it impacts a generation and unanimously agreed as a villain then at that point the name Donald will be associated with him. Ex: the name Adolf is associated with Adolf Hitler.

Osama and Mao, but yes it’s increasingly rare. I think we tend to associate historic people with their last names more than their first names.

I keep forgetting that Asia mostly have the family name first. But Osama still stands.

yeah, for most of the western world that was the first time we’d heard that name.
