I am currently in a bit of a low sewing mood after finishing “The Pants Journeytm. I still need to take good pictures of it, then I’ll tell you about the adventure that it was.

I have decided to reduce my WIP pile and finally shortened a tank top (after several years). I have a green skirt that I need to modify a bit and add a petticoat under it. Shouldn’t be too hard but I don’t want to cut fabric.

But I am also exited about the cardigan, which will come after the skirt. (or maybe not, we’ll see). I want to take it to the little week end gateway in two weeks, that would be perfect.

Also, beeswax wraps have been added to my project list, do I need to hem it or does the wax acts as fraycheck ?

Also, does anyone have discovered new sewing content on the internet recently ? I’ve been watching some Ash LG videos, they are really nice !

I don’t know why, but I feel like starting sewing. It feels weird, as a grown old man, but I want to sew some simple things to give to friends for everyday use or cosplay (ribbons, dress, shirts and the like).

I’m still figuring out which are the missing equipments I’ll have to buy (rulers, thimble, seam ripper, ) and I hope to be able to share my first sewed parts here

Welcome ! May I suggest not trying to buy all of the things in one go before you start anything ? There are lot’s of things around to help you sew, but very few are necessary and not all will be helpful to you.
Also do ask questions and share your things :)

Nothing weird about picking up useful new skills, sounds like a great plan to me.

I’m no expert sewist but definitely happy to chime in on beginner questions as and when you have them!

Looks great from here! Those unwanted gathers can be a bit annoying but ultimately it’s a practical item and it works and you made it yourself, a bit of a wrinkle is nothing.

I’ve been back in a quilting mood recently. Mostly finishing off a bunch of mini quilts I’ve been putting off for too long and slowly working myself up to the three big ones I told myself I need to do. Now I’m at the point where I have to baste the large quilts and I hate this part

Ooh, we don’t see a lot of quilts on fedi (at least I don’t). What pattern or colours does it have ?

I’m making this quilt first (other than the mini scrap quilts): Painted Desert

I got the kit for it with the original fabrics a long time back and finally got around to making it!
