I saw this post and wanted to ask the opposite. What are some items that really aren’t worth paying the expensive version for? Preferably more extreme or unexpected examples.

      Hard disagree. But the expense should be used for quality construction, not fashion imo.

      Going to have to disagree with this. Never cheap out on things that get between you and the ground. Mattresses, tires, and shoes are good examples. A good pair of shoes will last a lot longer and will be better for your feet and posture overal in my personal experience.

        Walk about 6 miles a day for work. Was buying nice running shoes, $180 every three months when the foam wore out.

        Got a nice pair of boots for $300 and just crossed a year. Just buy new insoles every 3 months for $20.
