He reaches out and grabs it from the customer like he doesn’t want him taking it.

I watched with no sound and from pure behavior I’m certain he is aware it’s there and is likely involved

Reaches out just BEFORE the customer actually removes it. And that nervous smile doesn’t remotely look like genuine surprise.

I wonder if he thought the customer was the owner and was getting it back to retrieve the stolen info. He got his phone out instead of just hiding the skimmer at least.

That’s why he didn’t want to let the customer walk away with it.

Oh wow thank you sir, I’ll totally hang on to that for safe keeping and will definitely report this to upper mgmt!

This was my first thought but the way he instantly reacted with a i gotta call police after taking a first proper look at it makes me give benefit of doubt.

I now think the grab might have been more of a customer is ripping part of our equipment reflex. And then it dawned what he was actually dealing with.

Nope. He would have looked at the original, either in a moment of confusion, looking from the skimmer to the original, or to make sure the original had no damage.

His reaction was unmistakably that of someone who 100% knew what to expect, and the calling the police line was just a gut reaction to feign ignorance and take control of the situation.

That was child like level of deception.

One of my first jobs was at a gas station. The lady who hired me was in shit with the company because she hired some dude and he was skimming peoples CCs. They found out, fired him but she did zero background check on the guy. Came back to bite her. I was his replacement

For real he handles it like it’s his. He said it happened again. I wonder what happened afterwards

I’d be sharing that footage with your bank, their bank and the police.

I’m pretty sure I’ve seen this video a few months ago. Does anyone have more info on how the story developed?

Before you use on of these things, you should pull on it. If it’s a skimmer it’ll come away and you’ll be able to tell it’s not part of the rest of the body.

In the picture of this post, I would grab the raised plastic bezel and jiggle it first
