I’m a big fan of this one: https://www.mountain-forecast.com/ it does mountains, not trails. Just type the name of the mountain and it will give tons of detail.
Also, my personal favorite 2 day hike in the pnw is Old Snowy mountain in the Goat Rocks Wilderness
(Also a good example to test)
I’m not sure, but I think part of the problem is that the votes are “real”. Since every instance has to have the same number of up/down votes they can’t get away with fudging the numbers. I have no hard evidence that reddit does, but I suspect they do to increase engagement.
Ha, yeah, that sounds… Not great. Starting April 8!
Thanks! I’ve had some pretty nasty water before, but it sounds like the CDT is gonna take that to another level. Is it weird to be excited about gross water?
The orange thing is my sleeping pad. I prefer a foam mat to to a blowup pad.
And totally understandable question! I’m bringing a sawyer squeeze water filter. It connects to the top of a squeezable bag or a smart water bottle if your bag breaks.
The Continental Divide Trail. 3000 miles along the rocky mountains from Mexico to Canada. I’ve been getting the money together and looking forward to this for the last two years!

It’s hard to have this argument without coming across as advocating for eugenics, but I completely agree. The fact that increasing women’s education is so strongly correlated with decreased population growth is not a coincidence.
The difference between a eugenicists and whatever the hell I am is that I think the solution is to educate more people, not to control their right to reproduce.
This is Little Crazy Horse Canyon very close to Goblin Valley State Park. This, along with the park, is one of my absolute favorite places in Utah, and when not flooded is a very easy and safe hike.
In order to not contribute to some idiot killing themselves I would like to make very clear, this canyon was flooded not flooding. If there is any risk of rain, please please, please, do not go into a slot canyon. A cool experience is not worth dying for. (Though it would be a cool way to die…)
Though I would watch one that was a contest between surgeons. I imagine it’d start pretty tame, but the first time a girl with cat ears wins, were only like 5 years from the really crazy shit
Haha, it’s a bit of an obsession…
