That’s basically the situation with almost every fast food restaurant these days, some casual dinning places and even grocery stores.
You can limit when an app is allowed to access your location in Android. But I’m guessing it’s used for finding the nearest restaurant to do mobile orders.
Location, Camera/photos, ( I assume for something like QR scanning), notification, audio.
Exactly. I guess at this point, I’m ok with some certain datapoints being collected. Mostly what they’ll get from me is that I occasionally like a Sausage Egg McMuffin on my way to work. lol
I never go to McDonalds without using a code from the app. $2 breakfast sandwich? Cool. 20% off entire order? Cool. It’s gotten to the point that using the app is necessary to get reasonably priced food. Without it, you’re overpaying.

I just did a career day at my sons middle school a few weeks ago. It’s still just as cringe and awkward as when I was there myself. haha!
In high school I hung out with all the punks and skaters. A lot of them would wear the studded jackets with patches and stuff. I didn’t usually dress the part but I love punk music and I love the skate culture so I felt like I fit in there. We didn’t care what anyone else thought or said to us. Social media and cell phones also weren’t really a thing. Bullying is different now because of that and it’s a real problem in many places. I’m sorry you had to take your daughter out of that school. I hope she knows there are people like her, who like the same kinds of music or the same kinds of clothes and that she’s not a freak or a weirdo. School can be tough. Even as an adult people make jokes sometimes about the music I listen too, but you know what? I still don’t care! lol

As an Eagle Scout & leader in my Son’s Boy Scout troop, an avid hiker, backpacker and general outdoor enthusiast… this is incredibly upsetting. This type of vandalism can’t be undone. I hope they find them and throw a rock…I mean the book at them. Or both.
Part of the Scout Outdoor Code is “…to be considerate in the outdoors.” which means treat the land and other land users with respect and follow the principles of outdoor ethics for all outdoor activities.
A head unit is the actual radio hardware in a car. Some of them can be replaced with after market hardware. Yes, when my phone is connected to the radio by Bluetooth, I have to keep the unit on and set to the Bluetooth input in order to hear notification sounds. If I have it off, or set to another input I won’t hear any notifications that come in.
In my state it is against the law to hold your phone while you’re driving so I keep it connected by bluetooth for calls. It’s not a problem when I’m listening to music or podcasts which I frequently do. It’s only an issue when I’m not listening to anything. I’ve looked into updating the car’s software but it’s already on the most current version.
Unfortunately I don’t have Android Auto capability in my car but thanks for the reply. Maybe this will help someone with a similar problem.
