Anybody that understands politics understands that the two-party system is shit. They also understand that unless both parties agree that they don’t like it and want to willingly allow more competing parties to sabotage their own efforts, it will never change.

So, saying that US democracy is fucked just because of that is a load of bullshit. Almost all democracies have two-party systems like that. Not even fucking Canada wanted to change their FPTP system, even when conservatives were abusing the system for 15 years. It was so bad that liberal voters in 2014 election had to tell their other liberal like-minded candidates “Yes, we like you, and we like your policies, but for the sake of the country’s future, we have to vote for Trudeau.”

Right now, there’s an executive battle to wrestle control of the company away from the original founders. While the founders are probably a bunch of rich assholes, they want to go back to being privately-traded with Tencent’s help, and the alternative is so much worse: venture capitalists in a publicly-traded stock market. They have been driving their IPs into the ground, due to overexposure (looking at you, Assassin’s Creed). No doubt this whole face-to-face decision was bought on by the capitalist assholes trying to sabotage the company and distract the public from what’s actually going on.

This coming from the company that made the artistic decision to play hip-hop music when the black protag starts a fight.

You can convince people that AI is capable of original works, or you can convince people that AI is nothing but a tool to remix and mashup other people’s artwork.

What is original and what is a remix and mashup of other people’s artwork? For every example of “original artwork” you could provide, I can show you how it’s derivative of other people’s artwork.

We’ve been copying and remixing creative ideas for centuries. There’s no such thing as “original works”.

Based on what? Distributing numbers in a big database doesn’t infringe on copyright, and downloading a web page or image doesn’t either.

The feature creep is a feature, not a bug. They want to be in a perpetual state of early access. They realize that it brings them more money than actually releasing the game and everybody being disappointed.

Just think of the hype of Cyperpunk 2077 before launch and after launch. Before launch, people would be willing to sacrifice their first-born child to play the game. After launch, the hype completely evaporated into scorn.

And I am of the opinion that spreading access to knowledge is vastly more important than copyright laws made decades before the internet was a thing. Especially when is comes to US copyright laws being forced upon the rest of the world.

Breaking the law is not how you change copyright laws. Ironically, AI is the best way to crack copyright laws like an egg, but everybody seems to be vehemently opposed to it.
